After comparison shopping different companies, reading online reviews and watching tests on YouTube, I chose CATI armor, and I'm glad I did. Shipping was fast. The plate itself is excellently coated. I am not wealthy enough to have been able to order an extra plate to take to the range for an actual shooting test, but I feel confident the plate is excellent. I also bought a sepi plate with base coat for the back of the carrier. One thing that people had talked about was weight. This swim cut plate with buildup coating is heavier than the sepi plate with base coating. In the carrier, the weight is nicely distributed, but it it is definitely noticeable. What I like about the steel plates over the lighter ceramic hybrid plates, and the poly plates, is that it has such a long shelf life. I don't have enough money to be replacing out of date armor frequently, if the government even let's us have armor in the future. So, I will carry the weight, and hope to never need to take it out of storage. I recommend this armor, love the company and their philosophy.

Curves that matter super comfortable to wear compared to others on the market!

I have a large chest and am using this on top of my flexible 11x14 IIIa+ armor. Even though the CATI armor is steel, it's triple curve actually improves the fit of the flexible armor and provides obvious extra protection ... without adding too much weight.

The multi-curves in the SWIM CQB are perfect on my larger back. Comfort couldn’t be better.

I’m a bigger guy, and these curves are perfect. I just hope I never have to use them!

Product looks good, feels comfortable, shipped quick. I chose the build up layer. I have no complaints.

I've been on the fence for a while, but finally decided to get this with all the unrest afoot.

It fits my Eagle Industries carrier perfectly, naturally I suppose. I've picked up other people's carriers, and one of the reasons I hesitated to purchase my own, was weight. Now that I have mine, the weight doesn't seem as impossible as it once did. With a good carrier, the weight is distributed pretty evenly, even with a triple/single shingle on the front. The cut seems to give adequate coverage, but still leaves room for arm movement.

One of my worries with the taller plate was my thought that the bottom would be hard to wear seated, across my belly. Not so. Worn correctly, the plate leaves good room for a fair range of bending at the waist.

So I seen demolition ranch do a torture test to it and their brutally honest. Seems very good quality with a shelf life of 20 years. I opted in for the build up coat and it's like a rhino liner. You cant beat the price. Overall very happy and feel safe with it on my chest. The time with a build up coat was about 4 weeks and it was estimated to be double that. Very quick way to get a quality product at half the price.

I gave 4 stars because i am not sponsored and purchased these myself and do not intend to shoot them simply for a test. There are plenty of videos on youtube showing they work They are as solid as any gong target I've ever used. The build up is similar to truck bed coating slightly shinier and seems a bit harder. No odd edges or runs the bend is very similar to my issue ESAPI plates. They are a bit heavy so plan on time to get used to them. A very solid product! delivered within posted lead time.
